IML: 63 Parking brake release canister

As I mentioned in my post about super-sensitive brakes, I noted a vacuum leak from the defunct parking brake release canister, and blocked the tube. I happen to be helping a neighbor fix some things on his 69 T-bird, and noted with interest in Hemmings a 'NEW' part offered for 64-66 T-birds: "Parking Brake Release Vacuum canister".  

Did previous or subsequent  Imperials without the Park tranny feature, OR or subsequent  Imperials use a Vacuum canister to release the parking brake?
Does anyone know of a source for my Imperial, or maybe this might be somewhat 'generic'?
