IML: Imperial brakes

I know that the disc/drum brake conversions are the individuals choice. However did any suppliers other that factory or dealers offer a disc brake conversion back in the 50's & 60's, for the Imperial range of cars. Back in 1960 in the U.K both Ford & Vauxhall motors were offering disc brake conversions to cars that had drums etc. The cars involved were the Ford Consul , Zephyr & Zodiac.Vauxhall P.A Cresta & Velox. I find it strange that there is no history or if anyone offerd a kit when our Imperial's were new. Just some idle thoughts.
Regards
Dave.
