Re: IML: disc brake kit

Not claiming to be a tech expert here, but you can get a correct disc brake conversion kit for your '66 from AAJ Brakes, it uses '70's Ford pickup rotors which have the 5.5X5 bolt pattern of our stock wheels. I just got the last parts together from NAPA for my '65 conversion, the specified hoses took a few days to get and are technically discontinued, at least with NAPA. I test assembled the calipers to the AAJ brackets and everything looks good, so hopefully I'll do the whole conversion soon. I may not have saved anything by buying the service parts locally compared to the AAJ price of a complete kit. I bought only the AAJ adaptor pieces to hopefully save on shipping everything else, but I think the total added up to about the same as it would have been even with shipping. Also, the AAJ parts shopping list left out the banjo bolts which did not come with the calipers, but NAPA had those in stock. It will be a bit of a time saver for me as I previously converted my drum system to a dual master cylinder, so my lines are correct already, and I have a junction point to add an adustable proportioning valve.

Hi All...can one of our 'tech' experts let me know if a "Disc Brake Conversion Kit" that is made for a 1966 "C" body will also work on a '66 Imperial??!!. I know Imperials are considered "D" bodies but is there a chance it might fit....?
Please feel free to contact me directly at "dansgarage@xxxxxxxxxxxx"
thanks all!
