Re: IML: Question

A 361, 383 413, 426,440 all used the same transmission. It is a direct bolt on However if you have a push button transmission, it will require at least the linkage.

Hi All,
Does anyone know if a tranny from a 440 will fit into a 413 motor?  Please advise

The tranny will fit, but be careful with the converter. Some later 440's have cast crankshafts, and therefore are externally balanced. If this is the case the converter will have weights around where the flexplate bolts up.
I believe all 413's had steel cranks and are internally balanced, meaning that converter has no weights. Also, at a certain point, the converter to flexplate attaching bolt size was changed. Make sure you know what you have.
