IML: 65 trans adjustment



Ron, 

Your 65 has a cable shifted transmission.  One cable operates R, N, D, 2, &
1 and a second cable engages/disengages the park pawl.

You do NOT have to drop the pan to make this adjustment.  You loosen the
clamp nut on the park cable housing (at the transmission tail shaft), pull
outward lightly on the park cable sheath, and then tighten the clamp nut.

i had my trans rebuilt in my 65 imperial. now sometimes it does not go in to
park all the way. somebody told me that you have to take the pan down to
adjust it. is this true and how is it done?
