Re: IML: rim blow switch update

I have used a small sandblaster to soften my rubber parts with good success.

Hi group,

Over the last couple of days I've tried the following things to soften the rubber of my rim blow switch:
-paint remover
-WD40
-leatherique rejuvenator
-brake cleaner
-vinegar
-turpentine
-paint thinner
None of these products had a noticable effect; the rubber remained rock solid. My last resort was to carefully remove the rubber with my good 'ol Dremel. It took me a while but I got it out! I did make some marks inside the groove but these will be hidden once a new switch is installed. In the meanwhile I've filled the cracks in the wheel with epoxy putty and sanded it down ready for paint. Soon it will be looking like new!

And one of our kind members (thnx Phil) sold me a used switch so shortly I will be able honk my horn again!

Thanks,
Frank
