RE: IML: '68 Ash Tray Light

Sorry, Dave; that is something the factory forgot - I guess they figured the
glow of the cigarette ash would light the way into the ash tray.

If you want an Imperial with a light in the ash tray, you should get
yourself and 81 - 83 coupe. They have some other nice features too!

Those clips are maddeningly easy to lose - been there and done that. Check
the inside of the door, and if it didn't wind up there, go find a mid to
late 60s MOPAR in the wrecking yard and steal one. When I robbed parts off
the donor car I used years ago when I was doing my convertible, I wasn't
smart enough to take a few extra clips.

YearOne may stock those, I think they were used in the muscle cars too, and
everyone knows parts are being reproduced for those - they're hot items!

Subject: IML: '68 Ash Tray Light

A silly question, I know, but I've been up and down
the wiring harness and examined the electrical
schematic in the manual. I just can't seem to find
provision for an ash tray light in the dash of the
'68.

It had one, right? What does it look like and where
should it mount?

As an aside, all the seats have been re-installed in
the convertible. All the panels, with the exception of
the passenger door, are back in place. (I'm missing a
clip/speed nut that accepts one of the screws for the
arm rest.) In fact, enough of the car is together that
I actually took it for a ride with the top down. A
positively Imperial experience.
