I took my '69 Bu-ck Electra ragtop to a local car show tonight and among the 60 or 70 cars I saw one Mopar.  It was a Dodge Charger, I think.  Usually there are 3 or 4, but it's always pretty spare.  There were 4 Packards, which I didnt' expect, but mostly it was GM, a lot of Ford and GM muscle cars and newer Jap cars souped up with crap I don't even understand.

Anyway, a kid was talking to me about my car later in the evening.  He was about 20 with tatoos all over, a cigarette dangling out of his mouth, a bottle of beer in his hand and a skinny girlfriend simpering nearby.  He confessed that he was first and foremost a Mopar fan, and after I told him I had a '58 Imp project car at home he drawled: "Yeah, my daddy picks on me for lovin' Chryslers.  He says Mopar stands for 'Move Over, People Are Racing.'"

I hadn't heard that one yet, or if I did I'd forgotten it.

Hello, I had a 76 New Yorker that started to do that, the needle would stick on 60 mph or so but if you tapped on the face hard enough it would fall back to 0. I took it apart and the needle or the face warped slightly so I took a piece of sand paper and slid it behind the needle and worked the needle back and forth to sand it down slightly, that took care of it. Also sometimes you can bend out on the needle alittle (be gentle).

Subject: IML: speedometer needed

Hello Gang,

Would anybody on the list have a speedometer for a '75 Imperial? My speedometer needle bounces back and forth when driving, and sometimes is on 60-80 mph when stopped. The previous owner told me the gear ratio in the speedometer is all messed up. So I would like the entire speedometer face. If anybody has one to sell please contact me off list with a price.
