Re: IML: best looking imperials...?

Me? I like the '58, and of course that kind of includes the '57 and '59 by default.  The '60 is really, really cool with that curved grill and the sharper fins, so I like that one too.  The '61 is great, and like the 60 a ONE YEAR ONLY design, which is totally slick.  The '62 is fab, another oner with those applied lights on top the fins.  Who would think of that?  Gotta love the '63, of course, with it's Gawdzilla mouth of a grill, collasped front turn lenses and the Famous Goggle Eyed headlights, the softer rear end treatment with the light-bezel bumper.  We can't leave out the '64, The Cereal Box, so of course the '65 and '66 comes in there too.  They ooze solid, dependable, powerful comfort. The Fabulous Years of 67 and 68 follow, with their clean, elegant lines, crisp grill, and great, long fender planes.   We can't leave out the fuselages of 69, 70, 71 and 72: Ridiculous Speed power, with the body very weird and obese, but innovative.  Then the last 3 land yacht years, 73 through 75, in my opinion the best handling of rear fender sculpting of any Imperial bar none, or any other car for that matter..  The 81-83 coupes were ahead of their time, with unequaled handling of the carved crystal edges, particularly the trunk plane.  The lusty grill on those cars is almost vulgar it's stretched down so low, but at the same time it scoops and tosses the miles up over the car like so much fluff.  Even the K-car Imperials of the 90s, the Orphans, have curb appeal unequaled by any other car of the era that lingers today from the early Throw-Away Era.  I still want one.

Yeah, I have a few favorites.  I could on about the '56 and the fabulous 55 too, or anything lower, but then I'd just be boring you.
