Re: IML: Was 65 A/C question... now OH NOOO!!!!

I recently replaced the Compressor & clutch in my 64. It is the same system as 65. I was able to get a rebuilt compressor clutch &  from Kragen Auto Parts. I also got a new EPR valve from them. I got a receiver drier from New air products in phoenix. While the system was open  I cleaned the expansion valve. Tested it  in the freezer & warm water. I flushed all the lines & coils  with mineral spirits. Blew out everything with compressed air. I replaced all the O rings & replaced the receiver drier. Installed the new compressor with new EPR valve and charged the system with R134. The day I finished it was 103 in the valley. I had COLD air inside my Imperial! It has worked fine ever since. You may have to hunt around for a gasket for the EPR valve. I was able to find one thru Car Quest.
