Re: IML: 56 IMPERIAL DRIVESHAFT

I looked up the usage of washer 1556-556. My parts book only covers models up to 1958. This washer is shown as being used from the time of transmission change during 1956 production though 1958. It may have been used in later models. Parts cars through at least 1958 might yield your washer.

I have Gary’s catalog and didn’t find it.  If you could look up a good part #, that would be great.  I have your earlier email with 1556-556 as a number, but I haven’t found anyone that can find that number.

Worst case, we will have to machine a new retaining washer.

I wonder if Lowell Howe or Bob Hoffmeister might be able to pull one off a car if they have a '56 around.

I didn't look to see what later models used the part. If you need, I can look it up this evening.

Gary Goers apparently sells the carrier bearing/mount. Maybe he can help if you have the time.
