Re: IML: IML DIGEST

Barry, I can relate, My Dad had, a(now mine) 77 Dodge van , with an ignition problem, he had the van towed to a Dodge Dealer for service. The Dealer refused to work on it, as it was over 10 yrs. old. It was then towed to a small shop, for service.Even these guys had a hard time trouble-shooting the problem! After a couple of calls from Detroit, to me in Fl., we solved the problem. The towing charges were more than the repair. That's we buy FSM's and slug-it out our selves. Ya'll have nice day, Dave  81 Imp.

Hey, driving an old car is an adventure in itself...and breaking down is part of the fun.  You get  used to calling tow truck companies, and you have to figure out the mechanics who have the skill (and desire) to work on old cars.  I have found that you just can't pull your broken Imperial into the local Chrylser dealer.  I have an informal list of mechanics and shops in the area who can help me.  Believe me...many mechanics don't know how to look for outdated parts and won't make the effort.
