Re: IML: Cream Colored '63

I am a muscle car guy. My interest is primarily early 70's. That vin tag did not look right. I defer to the experts on this list about how correct the shiny vin with no rivets (70s are riveted) and the questionable, to me, body tag. Before I spend $12K on a car I would check all that out thoroughly, but it does seem to be a nice car.

The dash pad isn't cracked, and the steering wheel looks too good. Both appear to be original. Arizona may be famous for no rust and great chrome, but virtually everything else deteriorates at an accelerated rate, unless the car is keep in the garage.

That VIN tag is exactly correct. I haven't ever seen one that wasn't shiny and fastened that way.

I'm a little more worried about the sparkling, polished vin tag that is NOT riveted in place and the scraped up build tag which has obviously been screwed and unscrewed more than once. At least for a $12K buy it now. I'm curious as to why Paul thinks the car isn't from Arizona based upon the interior work. Maybe it's the paint? In my experience the desert cars (Arizona, Nevada, Cali-desert) have great sheet metal, but always have rubber rot and need interior work because of the heat.
