Re: IML: Transmission fluid for my '66

Better yet, why not change the fluid (including the torque convertor) and replace it with synthetic Dextron III compatible fluid. You will notice the difference.

Hi Dan,

Any Dextron product will do in a Imperial or Chrysler.

Hi All...I need to add a bit of trans fluid for
my '66 LeBaron. I went to autoZone remembering
that I needed the type that says
DEXTRON on the container....BUT! now there is a
DEXTRON III fluid that says its a replacement
for everything from DEXTRON to DEXTRON
III! Does it really matter? should I first find
out what has been used in the trans till now (I
bought the car a few months back) or
do all these types of DEXTRON play well with each other??
Thanks all!
