RE: IML: Imperial VIN tag; replacements available?

i believe its illegal to make a vin tag. i think you are looking at getting a state issued tag which may be impossible unless you have a title etc.

From: "BRYAN ST MARY" <bryanst428@xxxxxxx>

I came across an Imperial that was missing the little stainless vin tag formerly located at the door jamb and it cannot be found. It may have been removed by a former owner who was considering painting the car.

Firstly, how do these vin tags come off or attach? Obviously, they don't use rivets or screws. Secondly, does anyone (Goers?) reproduce these tags? And if so, what could be used to stamp in the vin code to match the style of the original?

Perhaps someone has dealt with this issue before. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
