If this is an industrial engine, it should have a governor on the dist. If its marine it wont.The 331, also has a deep block, and the flywheel would recess back in the block.I wouldn't worry too much about the HP rating, the 4bbl, and higher rpm, should do it.It's also interesting there was a mileage rating, these engines were used in marine,fork-lifts, aircraft towters, generators,etc. And some trucks.Does it have exhaust manifolds, if so that may also help identify it.Ya'll have a nice day, Dave.
