I'm sure you'd rather not cause a row with the Midas guy, but unless you take Dick Benjamin's advice you will have no one to blame other than yourself. Don't think that adding a little more money to get it out of there is going to be a solution. Your problems have just started. He may tell you his insurance won't allow you to take possession of the car until the problems are taken care of. You shouldn't drive it away from there in any case. Have it flat-bedded.
 
There are a lot of grey whiskers here trying to tell you basically the same thing. Do us all a favor and let us know that you had the car moved home or to a real repair shop. Don't be in a hurry to find the right guy. Come to think of it, that is one of life's important lessons, right.
