Re: IML: Sale of Chrysler

I didn't hear anything about Chrysler being sold, but they are making a large cut in the workforce & closing some plants entirely. The reason given is that people are turning away from large vehicles with poor gas mileage. They said that mini vans, including the new Aspen are selling poorly.

Hmm, interesting?? who to believe, NY Times or CBS.  They both are known for bending the truth or just flat making up stuff.  This will require more research.

There was something about this in the NY Times recently but Daimler-Chrysler head claims they have no intention on selling (for whatever that's worth)

On CBS, they stated the Chinese Communists would be interested.  This is the first reference I have ever seen to chi-coms but that must be it.

I heard a blurb about this on the news this evening.  According to the news reports, Chrysler has been profitable for DC, I wonder why they would want to sell.

BTW, I?m not familiar with the term Chi-Coms.  What does it mean?

This may be a bit far afield but do we have any members who work for Daimler-Chrysler? I hear the Chi-Coms want to buy the company from Mercedes -Benz. If that happens well - I don't want to think about it.
