the 90 and 91 did not have a remote/keyless entree.   All you have is the key. the car alarm is set when you use the power door lock on the driver door. to disarm it you have to unlock the driver or passenger door with the key and to reset it if you disconnect the battery you have to unlock, lock, and then unlock the car with the key.
It is very common on the 90,91 for the switch in the driver door to get worn and not un-arm the alarm, it can be cleaned and it will work again.
you can add any after market keyless entree, the factory car alarm uses a short to ground to arm and un-arm.
