Re: IML: filter bag?

I installed the fuel screen for a 1965 Mustang on my 64 Imperial fuel tank pick tube. You can get them from Mustangs Plus. They are almost identical.

Subject: IML: filter bag?

The little screen on my fuel tank pick up tube fell apart in my hand when I tried to clean the varnish and sludge off it.  Is a generic sort of little bag available to clamp over the end of the tube?  I don't want to just put cheesecloth on there for fear it will disintigrate or melt down or something.  And can I use a metal heater hose clamp or will the gas attack that too?  I would like a low cost, fast, home remedy rather than wait a week for a specific, pricey replacement part.  This is for 63 Custom.  Thank you.  And thank you for all the tips on the Ford float compatibility.  I got one at my local dealer.  --Tom
