Re: IML: Stainless steel top a 60 imp

The spot welded ones that I encountered were on three separate Sedans.

Or perhaps they were welded on the hardtop and not on the sedans, has anyone correlated that?

There is bound to be a bit more flex in the roof of a hardtop without the B pillar but it seems hard to beleive there's enough slip to require welding the SS panels.

Hi All,

I have a Crown sedan with dealer installed (I have the invoice) stainless.  Not welded.
I had a LeBaron sedan, Not welded
I had a LeBaron Southampton hardtop, welded.

Go figure.  Maybe they started out welding them and then decided why are we bothering?  Likely it was a cost cutting measure mid year.
