Jerry, it would seem like someone tried to adapt the old RV2 compressor, or you may be right, the complete engine was swapped out with an older engine. The 81 FSM, only shows service info for the C-171 compressor. You can check the engine block casting date, I believe its on the pass. side of the block, it will be raised numbers, about 1/2-3/4" high, and be ie: 5-20-80, the last number would be year cast. There should also be a number that is cu.in. 318, or 360. You can also check EIN on the left front corner of the block, just below the cylinder head.Dave, 81-Cart.
