I believe VIN’s started appearing on the dash in 1968.  My 67 has it on the forward door post, my 68 has it on the dash.

WOW!  You have an R/T Charger?  I don't know when they started putting VIN numbers on the dash, but mine is on the frame when open the driver's side door.
