IML: Tired tires

Just a thought, about old tires. I just had my 4th encounter with old tires, the last one was a 30 year old spare, that never saw the light of day. It didn't make 30 miles, at 70mph without tread separation. The norm, here in FL. seems to be 4-6yrs. These were all radial tires, and all had 50% or better tread left. the worst, cost me a truck. So for those planing road trips, or long rides, think about your tires. One other note: none of my failed tires had weather checked, or cracked side walls.Ya'll have a nice day, Dave.
