IML: It's 1956 And Imperials With Chrysler has An Hook

When the 1956 vehicle producion year started in late 1955 all the Imperials of their Division and the Chryslers of their Division had an "hook" at the tail pipe.  The 1956 De Sotos and lessor Divisions carried the straight pipe for one more year.

 

In general, if the exhaust tail-pipe did not exit through a soon to be rusting rear bumper hole, it had an "MoPar hook".  Then about 1968 the straight pipe returned in the lessor divisions ( just as the look good, but bad idea bumper exhaust hole vehicles ).
