I have a friend who's found a 1966 Imperial convertible. It's described tome as a bit faded in and out, newer convertible top and some rust in the quarters. There's not much rust and the car seems straight and free from accident damage. Trim and interior are OK for a driver, not show quality but decent.
Our price guide info on the website is getting a little stale again but it shows $11,700 for a number three and $5.400 for a number four. Sounds like the car your friend is looking at is between those two. That just gives you a very rough "starting point" estimate and you might want to get a current copy of the Old Car Price Guide to see what their current numbers are. It is hard to price an Imperial because there are so few for sale. Just looking at ebay today there are 9 Imperials for sale from 1960 to 1970 and 73 of the Cword for sale for the same time frame. What I am trying to say is if he likes the car but the price seems high he may want to think about it a bit more as it could be a while before another nice one comes along.
