Re: IML: 90--front wheel bearing

I just did this on my 99 Intrepid.
Remove the brake caliper (2 bolts). Remove the axle nut (1 nut). Remove the hub bolts from the back of the hub (3 bolts). Remove hub from steering knuckle and axle shaft (may need a puller).
Put back together. An impact driver makes removing the axle nut easier and you will probably need a special extra large socket (34 mm for an Intrepid).
I am sure your Imp is different, but it will not be very different.
Start to finish was exactly one hour which is not bad considering the dealer wanted 1.4 hours of labor.
I had a front end alignment done after replacing the hub, but you probably do not need to.

Hi all,
Looking for some info on changing the front
wheel bearing hub assembly on my 90...Do I need
to remove the lower ball joint from the
knuckle? Also are the 90's different from
91-93? Thanks Jeff -----------------
