I just did this on my 69 LeBaron. The FSM tells you to cut off the old bearings.
However, I took mine to the local NAPA machine shop where they pressed off the old and pressed on the new for $20/axle.
Any machine shop with a good press should be able to do this.
The outer axle seals need to be installed in the axle retainers before the bearings are pressed on.
NAPA would have packed the bearings included in the price, but I wanted to use synthetic grease so I provided the bearings pre-packed in littl palstic baggies.

Hello,

Can anyone tell me how I can remove the rear axle drive- shaft bearings (bearing retainers) and where I can order new bearings? This for a 1970 Chrysler Imperial le Baron 4-door hdtp, 440 cu/inch.

Thanks a lot,

Edwin de Bruijn.
