IML: rust on master cylinder

I seek the infinite wisdom of the Imperial mailing list.

I am going to replace the master cylinder on my 69 Lebaron and would like to know if there are any suggestions for a "home" method to stop the new one from rusting.

I know that Eastwood has stuff, but the cost of this with shipping is more than the cost of the master cylinder.
