IML: 61 Transmission Advice

I'll elaborate a little more on the transmission. The 61
2 dr. has sat for over 35 years, the trans going out is
probably why the previous owner parked it years ago. I had
removed the engine and transmission 1 year ago as a night
time project and in my "spare time" to rebuild myself. But
now I have no more "spare time", with family duties, recent
self-serve car wash business, and a recent used auto sales
business to look after. The days of tinkering on the
Imperials are gone for now?
So, I will have a local transmission man rebuild the
transmission. But he is not familiar with the cast iron
torquflites. I'll let him use my FSM for reference, & we
have a supplier for hard parts if needed.
But, just wanted to ask if anyone knew of any problem
areas to look for and repair while the transmission will be
apart? Thanks, Rob Kidd 61/65
