I was actually thinking it had a
groove, as was addressed here earlier. IF it has worn a groove in the drum
surface over the years, the shoe's surface could be in that groove, and the
cheeks of the groove could be preventing it from sliding off
(sideways).

the wheel spins freely if that is what your asking . I dont
believe there is much shoe pad left if any at all. so making a ajustment wont
buy me much time

It's a shorter trip to the mental hospital... just kidding ..
sorry you have so many problems . some things just take a lot of
determintion, heat, a big f-ing hammer and luck .(pardon my
french).. get your torch out and make it hot --- then
hit it with a BFH,,,over and over( on the side of the hub) until
the vein in your forehead sticks out !!! you may have to
replace it but it will come off!
