Re: IML: Strange Beast Sighted Prowling North Portland: Part II

That's just the way it happened on my 60. That was around 95 & its still working correctly. If this didn't happen to someone else, nobody would have believed me.

Hi Gang -
No one is going to believe this except John, but today I needed to move my '60 out of the "Intake Garage" to make room for the expected arrival of the '62 tomorrow.  The neighborhood looked deserted. More importantly, there were no police around to scope in on the plates that expired 13 years ago.  I just couldn't help myself.  I had to go out for a short drive.  Emphasis on short as I haven't gotten the cars' gas tank cleaned out yet.  Even though I had to take it slow due to the Power Brake booster still being on vacation; it was glorious!
So glorious I guess I started day dreaming about future trips a little bit when suddenly I realized I was coming up on my driveway too fast.  Bracing myself and using both feet I jammed down on the brake pedal......... and damn near went through the windshield.  My Power Brake Booster decided to come back to work!   I continued up to the garage, filled up the gas can and backed up and drove off to experiment a little further.  So far so good.  The action is not as smooth as it's supposed to be but on Luke's advice I had bought some silicone based rubber lube earlier and gave it a good dose once I got back home so we'll see if it continues to improve.
I plan to have the unit I took off the parts car rebuilt against future failure, but for the time being, it sure is nice to have the power assist back!

Happy Memorial Day Indeed !
