Re: IML: '54 Chrysler Imperial

Any advice or information is appreciated. I'm sure I'll have questions
along the way.

Thanks,
Victor

   Victor,
The 54 is indeed a good year, if not the most sought after. There is much information on this site about starting a engine that has been dormant. I recently got one running that had set for maybe as long as a decade. These are very stout engines, and the transmission is very simple and reliable. Change transmission fluid and oil and filter before starting. Filters are available on special order from Advance, and other auto stores. You mention the condition of the chrome, and this year seems to suffer from low quality "Korean War" trim. There is a wealth of information on the correct interior design and production details in the 54 section of the Imperial by year part of the website. I hope you enjoy your example of well engineered, very sturdily built early 50's car. Oh yes, if you haven't already, buy it!
