IML: '64 Front Doors cause "Ching" sound

My '64 Crown Coupe makes a few noises when closing a door. I have replaced the driver's door hinge stop http://www.imperialclub.com/Yr/1964/64Hinge/Page01.htm but there is enough noise when closing for me to think there are other items making noise. I think the majority of it is in the door latch mechanism that snaps down into the latch's star crotch resonating from the end of the door. This is the part inside the door and it has a pretty stiff snap to it.

At the next round of mention by your acquaintances, it would be handy to have an Asian car side by side to compare heavy American steel 'chinggg' against the tinny Asian 'tinggggggggg'

;-)
