RE: IML: pw steering pump hose for '61

I've noticed this thread about power steering pressure hoses:  Somewhere in
the IML archives is a long discussion about this - the "reducer" is actually
an acoustic device (a restrictive orifice) that is placed a calculated
distance from the control valve to dampen out a very irritating "whining"
sound that will drive you out of the car if you eliminate it.  The orifice
is 0.070", if I recall correctly, and must be the right distance from the
bottom of the hose.  

If you skip this little gadget, you will find that under some conditions the
power steering gets very noisy, especially if the hose is in contact with
any metal parts like the inner fender - I've been there, done that, and had
to do it over!

Hi guys,

You can buy an original style hose (with reducer) from Atlas Obsolete 
Chrylser Parts in CA.
I have bought a new one for my 60 from them and are very happy with it!
