The pump is behind the rear seat back.  You can access it by removing the rear bottom seat cushion, and then the rear seat back cushion (which comes out as a unit with the rear radio speaker and rear seat trim surround attached.
 
You could be leaking hydraulic fluid, either from a bad hose, hose connection, or bad lift cylinders,  or a bad pump.  My case was bad lift cylinders/pistons ( they look sort of like a shock absorber, the pump sends the fluid here, and the cylinders raise the top.  The fluid had leaked out, and was absorbed by the carpet, and since my carpet is black, the leak wasn't apparent.  You can certainly top off your fluid and operate the top and try to determine where the leak is.   I got my new cylinders from Hydro Electric, and they have worked problem free for the last 17 years.
