OK, I appreciate all your comments. I've picked some folk's brains on other Mopar boards and they are right in line with the suggestions given.. Thanks! I'll let you know the outcome.

BRAKE light is sign things need repair. 

I have had 3 cars light up and all three needed
component replacement without fail.  It's a good
indicator that should be paid attention to and not
driven on.  Ken's thoughts on the MC are right on.
