It's okay, Extend has been around for a couple decades or so, sold under Duro, Loctite, and Permatex labels among others.  It goes on clear to milky white then dries in minutes to a hard black paint able primer.  I used it years ago on my 4x4 truck's hubs and it lasted a LONG time.  I did not apply it over good paint (no need) so I don't know how it reacts to it.
