RE: IML: The exclusive Imperial

I used to show my '60 LeBaron in all it's decrepit glory.  I had just as much pride showing it as if it had been fully restored.  All eyes were always on me when entering the show.  Likely because people couldn't believe someone might actually drive such a mess.  Local club members knew I had started with a car that had moss growing on it, an engine full of water, and a baked interior.  People are so curious about the '60 that it does not seem to matter much.  Lots of congrats to anyone who goes to the effort to keep these cars on the road.  As rare as they are condition does not matter to most who just enjoy seeing these cars.

I know what you mean, Clay. The local antique car club is having a car show this weekend. Mine is the only Imperial that will be there. There is a '56 Imperial and a '38 C10 (nonrunning) in the club but neither of them get out much.

My Custom with it's faded and flaking paint, slightly dented fin, cracked dash and original interior will be the only representative of our marquee. Interestingly my car gets a lot of looks (and smiles). Obviously the styling is just right to really get peoples attention, so that makes it fun.

Greeting everyone
I had the privilege of entering my 60 Imperial in a car show this weekend in
Hugo Minnesota.
No I didn't win anything.
The other entries were way too nice, and my 60 Custom needs too many
things.
