That is how the seats work on my '59 Lebaron. I am surprised to hear that there was another operating mode for that year!
Looking at the '60 Color Brochure from the web site it looks like that was the first year for the automagic seat. http://imperialclub.com/Yr/1960/Brochure/Page05.jpg While I'll pass on the dump me on the hiway seat I sure would love to have that car in those colors.
BTW.. There is a '65 for sale down in my neck of the woods if anyone is looking for one. http://tampa.craigslist.org/car/466893235.html I don't know the seller or the car so I can't answer any questions about it. I am secretly coveting that one but unfortunately I have put all my available funds in to a remodeled bathroom.
