Jack, I don’t think the hose you found came from one of the two
cars parked over the top of it. I think it was probably dropped in the
near vicinity of the car and bounced or rolled under the car. I have never heard of a hose deteriorating to the point where it
just fell off the car. Unless you have mice or some other critter
living under the hood. Then I suspect you would find many traces of their
presence in the form of chewed hoses and wire insulation. I’m not familiar with the 55 or 56 but usually a small
hose shaped as you describe will be a thermostat bypass hose or the short hose

around my barn for 'winter positioning', I found on the floor whence they came
what appears to be some kind of heater relief hose, in a 90 degree angle with a
broken male lip which would appear to fit into an outlet as a sort of
relief to something I just cannot locate on either car, as the other end
seems to be 'open'. I have searched the site for leads and am unable
to pinpoint this piece, nor find this hard rubber piece mentioned on either
home page. The number on the piece is: 2521077 and linearly is about
4" long if I could straighten it. Thanks in advance for any help/leads... Jack
