RE: IML: Should I Add Lead Substitute?

I am fortunate to have several stations in my immediate area that sell
racing-gas- the closest one has 104 octane fuel at a relatively reasonable
price (reasonable for what it is, of course); the next closest has 111
octane gas at a somewhat higher price, but it is a small price to pay for
the privilege of driving my Imperials. I use more-or-less two-to-three
gallons of racing-gas to the rest of the twenty-three gallon tank of 92
octane premium, and the '63 Imp is very happy with the mix- it is all
original (no major engine-work) with 137,000 miles on the clock, and I have
never heard it ping. When I travel I carry with me my list of stations that
sell racing-gas, and either one or two 6-gallon cans of the stuff from here.

For most old cars I figure if the valve recession problem ever happens it
probably needed to be gone through anyway but in your case with that low
mileage I wouldn't risk it. The stuff, at worst, won't hurt anything and at
best will keep that motor happy for another 200k. I'd spend the money if I
had something that nice.
