IML: More information about Simix

When I provided the link for Simix in my original post, I was viewing the
information specifically about Simix. I copied the link and pasted it into
my post. For some reason, the entire products page comes up when you click
on that link.
Here's another link that should provide more info.

It is great stuff. My 10 year old SLS looks like it's about 2 years old! I
used Simix on all the surfaces of the car the tech sheet said it could be
used on and I am amazed at the transformation. As I mentioned, I will be
happy to share photos of how the car looks if anyone is interested. I have
spent many hours (countless times) detailing that car with conventional
waxes only to watch them wear off in our rainy, hot, humid summers here in
lower Alabama. The owner of Color Plus (where I buy the leather care
products and dyes for restoring the interiors of my vintage cars) suggested
I try this as a possible solution to the problem. I couldn't be more
pleased with the results.
The only thing I did differently was to use the clay bar system in addition
to the surface restorer as the clay bar really does get the surface silky
smooth and I did not find the Simix Surface Restorer to do quite as well.
The protective coating works VERY well in covering up spider webbing, and
really did enrich the dark green metallic paint on the car.
Give it a try but be sure to follow the instructions carefully regarding how
much of the product to use and how much of an area to apply the product to.
To apply the protective coat to the car, I used one of the larger (6-7")
cloth covered sponge applicators which I caught on sale at WalMart one day.
I used a microfiber cloth to buff the area afterwards. Don't wait long to
begin buffing as the product dries quickly. The instructions suggest doing
no larger than a 2'x2' area. It's very easy to apply and buff and
successive coats (I've put about 6 or 8) really do deepen the shine.
