Re: IML: Please Welcome bob south - 72/73 Idler arm

Bob, Wecome aboard!

I sure hope that you enter your very rare car into our
Registry on the club website, and send some photos and
the car's story in for posting to the AUTOBIOGRAPHIES
section for others to see.

-The 72/3 coupes are pretty rare cars, and are
normally only owned by people of exceedingly good
taste.

I spent 6 months hunting for a cheaper solution than
the $250 that Rare Parts (in Sacramento?) charges for
them because I could afford to wait and I was
determined not to pay that much if I could evade it at
all.

Came up empty and caved. Car now steers super and it
was worth it, I guess. I guess I helped make a
payment on the Rare Parts' owners' speed boat that
month.

Note: some will tell you a NYer arm will work. It
will not, and unlike the person that asserted that, I
tried it, and it's shorter. This is a unique part to
these two years of cars.

Double check that the steering box is tight as well -
that design shows up on 1960-1973 cars (at least!) and
they all seem to get sloppy with mileage - they are
fortunately easily adjusted with two wrenches.
