1955 was the last year for a black engine compartment. After that body
color was used.

Subject: IML: Engine bay colours question
Hi Everyone,
Can anyone wise me up on what colour the engine bay
was painted on a 65? Mine was a black car and has a black engine room,
but were all engine bays black or did they follow the car colour? Also
what about the wheel houses. Ive seen Plymouth/ Dodges with black
ones. Im planning a colour change cos its Dirty Pink right now and
only a mother could love it. Thanks Geoff Simpson
