RE: IML: Please Welcome John Robison

Hi John:
Cherish your Imperial.
The last car that my Grandfather purchased was a 1969 Fury Wagon. He loved it and I have fond memories of driving in it with him. He purchased it and a 1969 Roadrunner for my uncle (383 4 speed) new in 1969 in Toronto for $5000 CDN for both.
I wish that I could have saved his Fury. In the winter of 1986 he crashed on black ice into one of those large steel and concrete light posts and knocked it down. Pretty impressive. I never did see the damage done to the car, but luckily my Grandfather was not hurt and he was 90 at that time. That was the last time that he drove though.

I have a 69 LeBaron Coupe and the 68 and 69 have a lot in common mechanically including the brakes, Auto Temp I, and some cosmetics including hubcaps and outside mirrors.

Again cherish your car and welcome.

John,

Welcome to the IML. You will find a ton of information on the web site and
a ton of fun and knowledgeable people on the mailing list.

I too have a 68 LeBaron that I picked up a year ago from the estate of the
original owner. Here's a link with pictures taken the day I brought it
home.

I've since managed to get the couple of damaged chrome pieces replaced, and
given it a good detailing. She looks a bit better today. All it takes is
time and money. The two resources I seem to have the lease of.
