Responding to Bob Schmitt's comment: -------------"I'd like to hear
current information about why the California clubs don't have greater
contact with the IML." ----------------

Bob, actually this impression is not as accurate anymore. Last year, we made
a special effort with the help of Kenyon Wills (in the Nor-Cal area) and
Marc Hampton (the So Cal president) to include the IML members in mailings
and tour notices for events put on by the SCIOC and the IOANC. As you know,
we do a joint event every spring with the Nor-Cal group, and these have been
quite successful. Not all the members of the California clubs are members
of the IML, but many of them are and may want to make comments.

The situation at Solvang last time was admittedly not good, (getting put in
the back parking lot). As I understand it, there was another large
convention going on the same weekend at the same Inn (the Royal
Scandinavian, I think is the name) and we were given second choice. The
previous time we did the meet there, it was much better.

I assure you and the other IML members that all are welcome to join the
SCIOC and participate in our tours and events. We have members who live in
our area and also a few from other states and even foreign countries. We
have a great group and some beautiful cars to enjoy. We have a web site
which can tell you much more than I can think of now. It is at
www.socalimperials.com We include the IML contact info in all our
newsletters and I think any Imperial enthusiast would benefit from
membership in both clubs.

The Northern California club is a separate organization, the IOANC, but many
of us are members of all 3 organizations, and we do our joint events as
mentioned above. Perhaps Kenyon can fill us in on the IOANC web site
address - I know they have a link on the Hemmings Motor News site
www.hemmings.com under "car clubs", "Chrysler", then "IOANC" but they may
also have a direct web site. Both groups have very impressive publications,
with full color on glossy paper, or e-mail (your choice at SCIOC).

For any that are within driving distance to Temecula, CA, we are having an
SCIOC meeting at a very beautiful setting for lunch on March 29th, 2008. You
are welcome to join us for lunch and listen in to the planning for our 25th
annual Joint California meet, to be held on April 24 through 27th in
Bakersfield. The meeting is 11:00 AM at "Pat and Oscar's" restaurant, which
is 1 1/2 blocks east of I-15 at the Rancho California off ramp. The
restaurant is up on the hill in the trees, behind the duck pond.
