RE: IML: VALUE OF MY '65

If you are selling it, I would be interested in seeing it. NADA Jan thru April 2008 puts the value as Low = 9,400. Average = 19,200 and High = 34,000. Adjust for optional equipment and miles. NADA rates high as a 2 and average as a 3 and low as a 4. I would hire a certified auto appraiser if you are looking for a true value and they will use sales comparables and auction reports, adjust for equipment, miles, reconditioning, etc. Most insurance will require an appraisal or charge more for stated value policies. Greetings! I wonder if you all could help me with an idea of what the '65 Imperial Crown convertible is worth?

It has a little over 16,000 miles on it. It was repainted some time ago, an okay job. Still looks good. I believe the top has been replaced also.

The interior is all original. The wood trim has some discoloration. All of the windows work except the rear passenger.

The glass in intact. None of the leather is torn. The dash has a little separation.

The tires are new Michel ins. It has the hard side covers for the top and the soft center piece.

I believe I have about got the engine ready to start. ( I'm taking this step slowly because it has sat inside storage for several years.

All of the trim is there inside and out. there is a small dent in the rear chrome trim above the bumper and the chrome trim around the passenger's front wheel well has a minor dent.

Any thoughts would be appreciated,

" running when parked" is almost always a crock.. nobody just parks a car that's running great, I guess they just don't want to say the truth that it was kinda' running "ish" (it rolled) when it died there..., but usually the person selling the car has no idea why it was parked, and is usually someone who knew or was related to the person who parked it, because the needed repair was way more then the car was worth when they parked it ( typically 5 or more years prior to me seeing it) my other favorite is the "needs TLC" line.. that usually means something akin to "the only salvageable part left on this car is one inside door handle" and oddly enough, that's the car they want 6500.00 for because a neighbor remarked it was a classic.

Imperial Content: My 90 just turned over 85000 miles this week, pretty good for an 18 year old daily driver...
