Brian,
Here's what happened to me, and might be your problem.
Back in the 80's I tried for a week to get my Dodge Magnum with a 360
started, to no avail.
It finally turned out to be the timing. I had had the transmission
worked on, and they must have had to take the distubutor off.
When they put it back on, they never tightened it down.
I noticed a 'clean' spot under the distribitor clamp and I was able to
rotate the
distributor by hand. She fired right up when I moved it back to cover
that spot.
The timing was so far off, that it would not fire.
I was lucky that the car died in my driveway, so I had a place
to tinker with it.
