I bought 5 silvertowns from them. They are great. Wish that I hadn't bought the warranty (wasted enough to buy another tire), but DON"T get radials!!! Your car will ride poorly. The silvertowns are super tires, even the ones from coker.
Call them. Give them money if the tires are on the shelf. They ship. Not much harder than that!!!!
I have them on my 64 right now after pulling them off of my 1960. I WILL buy more of them from coker and am always admiring how good and original they look. Your car will look so much better and will ride as the engineers intended. My 63 had radials and after that I swore never to compromise again.
Good luck.
Actually I also have the original Silvertown spare (I think) in the Trunk of my 60.
Though I don't have access to the car at this moment , I seem to remember measuring the whitewall and coming up with a odd measurement.
2-3/8 ,or thereabouts. The depth of the rim must hide part of the whitewall ?.
Anyway I really didn't give it much thought because I had planned to order Coker reproduction Silvertowns.
Now after reading a lot of bad things about Coker quality and customer service (from another list) I am considering
Diamondback Radials . They are recommending 3 inch whitewalls, but I am pretty sure that is too wide.

As you may be aware the 1960 Imperial tyre was 820x15. If you specifically want the B.F.Goodrich Silvertown Vintage Tyre then you have a choice of a whitewall width of 1" , 2 1/2" or the 3 5/8 ". I believe that the original whitewall width was around 2 1/2 ". I had a similar problem with my 1960 Whitewalls. I bought the Firestone but went for their 3 1/2" width. If you are after the B.F.Goodrich tyre then I suppose you would buy the 2 1/2". This tyre is a 4 Ply Poly.
I know that Richard Burgess had an original whitewall in the boot of his 1960 Crown when he got it so he will know what the original width was. I'm sure he would measure it for you.

Subject: IML: 60 whitewall width
Greetings everyone
I apologize in advance for a question that could be answered by simply searching the archives. But darn if I can find it!
I am trying to find what should be the correct width of a 60 Imperial's whitewall.
As close as I can tell its anywhere from 2-1/2 inches up to 3.Specifically I want the width for the B.F. Goodrich Silvertown tire.
